MYC TALKS
Introduction:
An initiative of the Mizoram Youth Commission, MYC Talks was conceived as a series-based platform aimed at creating meaningful conversations for the youth of Mizoram through talks, discussions, and interactions with speakers from diverse backgrounds and professions. Each episode was organised around a specific theme relevant to the aspirations, challenges, and overall development of young people. During the Financial Year 2025–2026, a total of four editions of MYC Talks were successfully organised under different themes and topics. The programme was designed with the objective of motivating, inspiring, and guiding youth by exposing them to real-life experiences, practical knowledge, success stories, and honest discussions from resource persons, professionals, achievers, entrepreneurs, artists, officers, and individuals from various walks of life. Through these sessions, MYC sought to provide not only motivation, but also direction and encouragement for young people to take constructive steps towards personal growth, career advancement, self-development, and responsible citizenship. A major focus of MYC Talks has been inclusivity and accessibility. The initiative was not intended solely for academically outstanding students or those preparing for prestigious professions such as civil services, but for every youth in Mizoram regardless of educational qualification, background, locality, or career aspiration. The programme aimed to reach and encourage students, job seekers, skilled workers, entrepreneurs, artists, school dropouts, and youths exploring different paths in life. Through open discussions and relatable experiences shared by speakers, MYC Talks attempted to bridge the gap between aspiration and opportunity, while also addressing issues faced by today’s youth such as uncertainty, lack of guidance, career confusion, motivation, self-confidence, and social pressure. The initiative further sought to create a platform where young people could learn, reflect, and feel empowered through positive and meaningful engagement. Overall, MYC Talks served as an important youth engagement initiative of the Commission, promoting awareness, inspiration, and constructive dialogue among the youth of Mizoram. With the exception of Episode 2 (Realising a Dream), all MYC Talks episodes were conducted in the presence of a live audience, creating a more engaging and interactive atmosphere for both the speakers and participants. The sessions were professionally recorded and subsequently aired through MYC’s official social media platforms, including YouTube and Instagram.
